**5 on 5 Men's Basketball League Rules**

1. **Team Composition:**

- Each team must have a minimum of 8 players.

- At any given time, only 5 players from each team can be on the court.

2. **Team Captain:**

- Each team must designate a team captain.

- Only the team captain is permitted to communicate with the referees.

3. **Conduct:**

- Negative attitudes, foul language, fighting, arguing, or disrespecting the referees will not be tolerated.

- Any player exhibiting these behaviors will be immediately ejected from the game and may no longer be allowed to participate in the league.

4. **Timeouts:**

- Each team is allowed 2 timeouts per half.

- Timeouts do not carry over to the next half.

5. **Game Duration:**

- The game consists of 2 halves, each lasting 20 minutes.

- There is a brief intermission between halves (5mins).

  • Overtime is 2 minutes running time. The 2nd overtime will be sudden death. The 1st team to score wins!

6. **Fouls and Free Throws:**

- Teams will enter the bonus and shoot 1-and-1 free throws on the 7th team foul of each half.

- When a player is fouled while shooting, they will be awarded 2 free throws. When a player is fouled while shooting and makes the shot, they will be rewarded 1 free throw.

- Players are disqualified ("fouled out") upon committing their 5th personal foul.

For it being its first season, it was ran really well. I did enjoy the best 2 out of 3 format since there was only 4 teams so it gave everyone a pretty fair shot. I especially love the idea of keeping track of peoples individual points for every game. I think that just adds to the experience. Overall, I enjoyed this league a ton, met a lot of great people and look forward to the next one.”
